Arthur's red jacket

Here is my Prince Arthur doll wearing his red jacket
This jacket is based on the one worn by Arthur in Series 1 of Merlin TV series. I always liked Arthur in this jacket but he only wore it in about 3 episodes, notably The Poisoned Chalice.

Morgana in her cloak

Before Christmas I managed to find time to make Morgana a blue velvet cloak. Unfortunately it isn't as full as any of the cloaks worn by Morgana in the Merlin TV series but I only had a small piece of fabric to work with.

Royal Wedding Bridesmaid doll

Some more pictures of Freya dressed in her Royal Wedding bridesmaid dress. I studied lots of photos of the wedding of Kate and William to get the best replica dress that I could.

The dress is made from a lovely, heavy weight ivory fabric with a soft sheen. It has a circular skirt arranged in wide box pleats. She has an underskirt which is stiffened to give the skirt a very full appearance.

It has puffed sleeves trimmed with tiny pearl beads. The neckline and cuffs are trimmed with ivory lace.
The back of the dress has pearl bead buttons although it is actually fastened with press studs. A matching ivory ribbon forms the sash.
I thought the skirt looked too short. It was quite difficult to decide on the diameter of the skirt and once cut out there was nothing else to do but add wide lace to give it the extra length. She is wearing ballet pumps made from the same fabric as the dress.

Page Boy doll - Royal Wedding

Freddie, my page boy doll. A lot of work, many hours went into making his outfit.
His jacket is made from a piece of strong red cotton which we had left over from making chair covers. The black sections are made from felt. I sewed the gold braid and gold beads by hand in the evenings while watching TV.
Little page boy shoes, made with black leather trimmed with tiny buckles. It was very difficult to find anywhere that sold small buckles

Royal Wedding - Pageboy and Bridesmaid

I've been working on these two since April.
Freddie and Freya are going to a wedding. They have important roles as pageboy and bridesmaid. Their outfits are based on those worn at the Royal Wedding this April.
