Royal Wedding Bridesmaid doll
Some more pictures of Freya dressed in her Royal Wedding bridesmaid dress. I studied lots of photos of the wedding of Kate and William to get the best replica dress that I could.
The dress is made from a lovely, heavy weight ivory fabric with a soft sheen. It has a circular skirt arranged in wide box pleats. She has an underskirt which is stiffened to give the skirt a very full appearance.
It has puffed sleeves trimmed with tiny pearl beads. The neckline and cuffs are trimmed with ivory lace.
The back of the dress has pearl bead buttons although it is actually fastened with press studs. A matching ivory ribbon forms the sash.
I thought the skirt looked too short. It was quite difficult to decide on the diameter of the skirt and once cut out there was nothing else to do but add wide lace to give it the extra length. She is wearing ballet pumps made from the same fabric as the dress.

Page Boy doll - Royal Wedding
His jacket is made from a piece of strong red cotton which we had left over from making chair covers. The black sections are made from felt. I sewed the gold braid and gold beads by hand in the evenings while watching TV.
Little page boy shoes, made with black leather trimmed with tiny buckles. It was very difficult to find anywhere that sold small buckles

MERLIN
Merlin has had a bit of an upgrade.
His boots have had another coat of dye and now have two little straps and buckles.
His belt now has a buckle.
He has new trousers made from a heavier weight fabric and a darker colour brown, so a better contrast with his jacket.
Farewell Anya
Anya has gone to a new home! My mother's friend, who is in her nineties, took a liking to her so I have given Anya to her. These are her farewell pictures in the conservatory and with her brother Alex, who I still have.

Narcissus and Persephone
Here is Narcissus completed but without his clothes. I have started making his clothes but not nearly finished.
Here he is again with my other character from Greek myths, Persephone.
Persephone's clothes are at a more advanced stage as you can see in these pictures.

The following photos show different parts of Narcissus after he had been stuffed.

Narcissus - face and feet!
Before stuffing the feet, I glue a piece of foam inside each sole to give a firmer base to stand on.
I used yellow T-shirt fabric to make his face. Here you can see the beginning of the face painting.
This is the back of the face. I have used small pieces of stuffing to shape the nose and cheeks. Then the whole of the face is backed with lightweight iron-on vilene.
Here is the completed face with golden embroidered eyebrows and eyelashes.
And the whole body waiting to be stuffed.
